REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON - Hana Tajima Simpson, who the British fashionistas who do not know him? Long wrestled with the world of fashion, he is now engaged Muslimah trendy clothing line but still syar'i, with labels Maysaa.
Design dresses often featured the country's fashion magazine. In fact, a classmate of Vogue magazine has ever displaying his creations.
Hana is a simple design characteristics, follow the trend, and of course, remain syar'i. The design is far from the impression that Muslim women should wear loose, matching the colors garish, and not tidy.
"Being Muslim in western countries can be a bit enakutkan. You know, fashion is also able to create something that will help Muslim women everywhere continue to be motivated to continue to wear the hijab but also" accepted "because of their clothes," he said.
Hana learn from experience. He became a convert to Islam five years ago. Since bersyahadat, he decided to Muslim dress. "All the clothes of the past, I inherited on my sister," he said.
He memadupadan own appearance. Until finally he realized, must do something to "dress up" Muslim. So he pioneered the fashion blogs, before finally making a fashion magazine and its own product line, Maysaa.

Scrape past Hana, not as easy as finding an article about his work. He did not really like indulgence in his personal story. Hana just gives a little glimpse: his father, Tajima, comes from Japan and her mother from England. They later settled in London.
He became a Muslim while attending college tread. Hana says he is fed up with the lives of young people in London who can not get out of the pub and promiscuity. He himself was deeply interested in philosophy.
One time, he admitted that he confused with his life. Not the bandwagon of his friends ran to the pub, he chose to immerse myself devouring the books of philosophy. Also gender issues.
"The more I read, the more I find myself agree with the ideas of Islam," he said. But then he still did not want to be a Muslim. "To arrive at a point where I can not say no to me about the truth of this religion, then I bersyahadat," he said.

Hannah began wearing a headscarf on the same day he bersyahadat. "On a personal level, it is a good way to distinguish what has happened before in my life, with what will happen in front of me," he said.
He went bersyahadat in between the younger brother who works as a photographer. Along the way, he became the object of her sister photography.
At the beginning of veiled, she felt "out of me." In fact, he had designed the clothing-fashion - Hana a designer since a young age - as comfortable as possible. "There were days when I get someone to give my critical gaze, but I know why this is one of the risk of constant affirmation of what I believe," he said.
Even in an environment close friends, all a bit awkward after he turned into a scarf. "When I became more comfortable with it all, people are more relaxed. In general, it takes about 5 minutes for someone to stop thinking 'why did she wear it on its head' and actually communicate with us fairly," he said.
Together with that, he made a blog StyleCovered, contains guidelines covered. He took a different currents based on experience: simple casual dress, almost like a "polite clothes" worn another woman everyday. In this fashion, other people will not be "surprised" or awkward.
Not surprisingly, his blog selling well and so referral is not only Muslim women in the UK but also many countries. He also issued a draft mulau diligent self-design.
He claimed many Indonesian Muslim inspired in fashion design. "I get so much inspiration from Indonesian girls who wear headscarves. The way they do not like the color matching elsewhere, and that's something I'm trying to put in my own style," he said.
Now, he became the new icons generation of British youth. Young, energetic, fashionable, and ... Muslims.

===================
Busana-busana rancangannya kerap diulas majalah mode negeri itu. Bahkan, majalah sekelas Vogue pun pernah memajang kreasinya.

Mengorek masa lalu Hana, tak semudah menemukan artikel tentang karya-karyanya. Ia memang tak begitu suka mengumbar kisah pribadinya.

Kini, ia menjadi ikon baru generasi muda Inggris. Muda, energik, modis, dan...Muslim.
